New Homeland Security Report Lists ‘Liberty Lovers’ As Terrorists

In 1776 men from different colonies came together and pledged to separate from a tyrannical power and declare their freedom. It was a new idea that had been developing for years among the Enlightenment thinkers. They fought for individual freedom in 1776, but the real question that pokes its head is "do we have freedom today?"

A new study funded by the Department of Homeland Security characterizes Americans who are “suspicious of centralized federal authority,” and “reverent of individual liberty” as “extreme right-wing” terrorists.

According to Infowars.com

Entitled Hot Spots of Terrorism and Other Crimes in the United States, 1970-2008 (PDF), the study was produced by the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism at the University of Maryland. The organization was launched with the aid of DHS funding to the tune of $12 million dollars.

It is a sad day in America when the federal government believes that citizens who exercise the 1st Amendment and believe in the ideas that created this country are terrorists then where have we come as a country?

What happened to the spirit of '76 when we challenged the authority of the state and brought forth a new brand of thinking that said people are their own and nobody controls what they do in their lives?

This is similar to a report a few years ago that was conducted by the State of Missouri, but when the Department of Homeland Security puts it stamp on this idea then all liberty has been lost. We no longer have a government that protects the rights of its people, which the Constitution compels them to do, but instead labels them enemies of the state.

We now live in a country that says loving and believing in the ideas of Liberty and Freedom are considered hostile acts.  That the federal government will deal with these type of people because they the tyrannical power now feels threatened.

I grew up in this country believing that the government is good and that we have a Constitution that protects peoples rights to freedom and liberty, but as I have gotten older and learned more about the people that run Washington D.C. my image of a good government has died. I now see one that wishes to control its people by telling them what to do rather than encouraging them to fight for themselves.

Liberty is dead....
